In memory of David M. Haller, Jr. who was a Little League baseball player and Grand Island Middle School student, killed in an accidental fall from a 50-foot cliff in Yellowstone National Park in the summer between sixth and seventh grade in July 1984. He was one of nine boys, six others from the Island and two from Niagara Falls, who were on a month long tour of western states and Florida.
This award is given for Sportsmanship and outstanding talent, to the one who tries hardest and is a living example of what Little League stands for. On the plaque it reads “Sportsmanship Award for Heart, Spirit and Enthusiasm.”
In memory of brothers Matthew D. and Allen T. Potter, Little League Baseball players and students at Huth Road Elementary School, tragically killed in a car accident along with their father.
This award is for dedication, spirit, determination and the care of others.
